1. Aged

If we overweight, the fatty tissue in your neck makes your airways smaller, resulting in it being harder to breathe, which may increase your snoring. Women are known to snore during pregnancy. This may be due to weight gain and increased nasal congestion.
3. Sleep Posture
When you sleep on your back your neck muscles relax and block the throat, again resulting in it being harder to breathe.
4. Diet
As we may have known that Milk can cause upper respiratory tract congestion, which then may exacerbate snoring. But most snorers are unaware that consuming certain specific carbohydrates groups after 3pm, such as potatoes and dried fruit, can also influence whether they snore of not.
5. Sleep pills or Alcohol
Taking occasional sleeping pills or drinking alcoholic beverages relaxes the throat quite a bit, which is enough to cause snoring.
6. Cold
A common cold getting worse and resulting in the air passages getting blocked is another major cause. Treat it with antihistamines and keep a humidifier or vaporizer in your room.
7. Allergies
Allergies can often result in nasal congestion, which can make it hard for your body to get the oxygen it needs. Unfortunately, since antihistamines also cause issues, one of the best remedies for this problem is to take a decongestant as opposed to an antihistamine.
8. Infections
Infections can lead to temporary swelling of passages, congestion and partial obstruction.
9. Enlarged tonsils or adenoids
Not all snores originate in the nose. Often the snoring is caused by a blockage in the throat. One cause can be enlarged tonsils or adenoids, which are glands made up of lymphatic tissue used to counter infection. Unfortunately the tonsils and adenoids sometimes become overactive, or are simply too big to begin with. Removing them can greatly clear the airway, making it possible to sleep without snoring.
10. Deviated septum
Sometimes there is a structural abnormality in the nose such as a deviated septum. The septum is the cartilage that separates the two halves of the nose. Abnormalities in its structure or position can cause vibrations that result in a snore. A deviated septum can be hereditary, but more often it is the result of an injury such as a broken nose. Usually surgery can correct the structural problem, curing the snoring.
